Our History

Over 50 years ago our Mother Ruth opened her first restaurant in downtown Brooklyn, NY in 1968 with her Authentic Southern Food. It was an immediate success. Countless customers would stand in long lines waiting to order and have a chat with Ruthie, who greeted everyone with a loving smile. She touched and served many officials, political figures, movie stars, radio personalities, homeless persons, and many people from all walks of life. She is loved and missed. Our beloved Mother graduated to heaven on November 12, 2009. She is remembered as "The Queen of Soul Food" and was deemed "The Rolls Royce of Soul Food."

She was excited about me expanding to Charlote. I opened the food truck in 2013 along with my children Kenyota, Greg & Kia. Although she was not unable to see the expansion, she's with us all the time. We like to thank you for your patronage and support as we continue with our Mother's Legacy!
